The Tayo necklace is a one of a kind statement piece. Handcrafted and made with sustainable found coral, turquoise, and vintage coins and beads by fair wage artisan Anastasia in Chichicastanenga, Guatemala. The circumference of the inner necklace measures 18", and the outer is 30".
Turquoise is one of the oldest known mined stones. Elaborate turquoise jewelry has been found dating back to 3000 BC. In Mayan culture it has been thought to provide protection, as well as a symbol for success and prosperity.
The heirloom collection is meant to honor this history and traditions of the Mayan people as it has been passed down through generations, with the hope of continuing the legacy for many generations to come.
